The Materials Chemistry Group (GQM) was founded in 1998 by Professor Aldo Zarbin and is based in the Chemistry Department at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil. The group specializes in nanomaterials research.

Karol was a master's and PhD student at GQM from 2018 to 2024 and is now a postdoctoral researcher in the group. Since 2022, she created and has managed the group's Instagram account (@gqm_ufpr), showcasing its daily research activities and promoting Brazilian science.

Check out some of Karol's videos featured on GQM media!

GQM's Instagram features a section called "Gerando Química Moderna", a name inspired by the group's acronym.

This initiative aims to make science more accessible by presenting complex topics in clear and simple language.

On GQM's Instagram, Karol has highlighted the scientific articles published throughout the group's 25+ years and continues to share new research.

Here are some of our most-watched videos.
